as Victoria Paisley
Heiress to the Paisley Department Store fortune, Victoria Paisley sauntered into Somerset with brother Ned and quickly held joint fief with Kate Cannell as the bitchiest woman in town.
Scheming, manipulative, and completely amoral, no man was safe around Vicki, the happiest home-wrecker this side of Bay City. Her first victim was Kate Thronton Cannell, whose marriage to Julian was floundering. When Vicki uncovered Kate's secret (she had surreptitiously aborted her husband's baby and faked a miscarriage), she couldn't blab the truth to Julian quickly enough. Although Julian dumped his wife, the plan ultimately backfired; he returned to former love Eve Lawrence. Undeterred, Vicki pushed Ned and Eve together, while concurrently seducing stalwart Tony Cooper into the sack with little more than a cashmere sweater for Christmas.
However, it was Julian who truly held her interest. When his attentions were temporarily diverted to television journalist Avis Ryan, Vicki ended her affair with Tony and attempted to dissuade Julian from Avis, but it was to no avail. In late 1976, the series winding down with great alacrity, Vicki underwent a period of self examination and didn't like what she saw. Vowing to become less self-absorbed, she devoted much of her time to soliciting donations for a hospital fundraiser and in the process, managed to help Julian expose organized crime in Somerset. In the final telecast, Vicki and Julian were finally united, sharing a kiss together as the picture faded to black forever.
