FAWNE HARRIMAN
as Ginger Kurtz Cooper
Ginger was the unfortunate daughter of Leo Kurtz, Somerset's chief crime lord, and niece to kind doctor Stan Kurtz.
After she married Tony Cooper, Ginger became pregnant, then endured a horrific rape at the hands of Virgil Paris, one of her father's thugs. When Virgil turned up dead, she was arrested for the crime. However, in an eleventh hour confession, Leo admitted that he'd ordered a mob hit on Virgil in retaliation for Ginger's assault.
With the syndicate broken, Ginger moved with Tony and their son Joseph Rex to Whispering Beaches, a nearby suburb, but trouble followed. The couple got mixed up with wealthy astrologer Hilda Benson, which resulted in Tony going on trial for murder.
By 1975, Tony was cleared, and the Coopers moved back to Somerset. There Ginger suffered more angst over Tony's torrid affair with man-hungry Victoria Paisley.
Ginger ultimately forgave her husband, finding peace at last in the only place she could... California, a thousand miles away from Somerset.
