Poor Chrystal was a gun moll-with-a-heart-of gold who worked as Sam Lucas' secretary at Delaney Brands. She'd been planted there by the Mob, who wanted a foothold in Somerset's chief industry.
On orders from her superiors, Chrystal seduced Sam into bed as part of a blackmail scheme, but like everyone else in town, she really just wanted to get her hooks into hunky Julian Cannell.
After her role in the the syndicate takeover was exposed, a reformed Chrystal did manage to win Julian's affections, and they planned to marry. Before that could happen, though, Julian's demented ex-wife Zoe escaped from the sanitarium, returned to Somerset, and shot Chrystal dead.
