Andrea Moore lived with her wealthy but oh-so-eccentric family near Somerset. While dating David Grant, she experienced periods of illness and had terrifying visions of a bizarre clown, who haunted the family manison. Eventually it was discovered that Andrea was being slowly poisoned by her jealous sister-in-law Zoe Cannell, who feared Andrea wanted to steal her husband Julian.
Zoe lured Andrea to a remote cabin, intending to kill her, but the plot failed. With Zoe captured, Andrea decided she really did have feelings for Julian. She bought a local newspaper and made Julian editor. When he didn't return her feelings, Andrea got wise, turned the paper over to her cousin Kate Thornton, and got the hell out of Somerset.
